The ReTV partners have been accepted to the programme of the Joint Technical Symposium. The project coordinator Lyndon Nyxon (MOD) will present the paper "ReTV: bringing broadcaster archives to the 21st-century audiences: How ReTV solutions can optimise audiovisual content for online publication and maximise user engagement". About the Event The Joint Technical Symposium (JTS) is an international scientific and technical event dealing with matters of particular importance to audiovisual archives and archivists. Organized every few years since 1983 by the member organizations now forming the Coordinating Council of Audiovisual Archiving Associations (CCAAA), it provides an opportunity for audiovisual archiving experts from different backgrounds to come together, share new and upcoming technical advances in our field, and take positions that go beyond the boundaries of specific formats or domains. It is an occasion to inform each other about what’s going on in our field and seek cross-fertilization. At a time when the digital world is converging, it is an opportunity to discuss technical issues and agree on how technologies best position us for the future of our field. To see the full programme of the conference, visit the JTS website.
ReTV consortium partners will host the first ReTV Stakeholder Meeting on 15 October in Potsdam, Germany. ReTV is developing novel tools for broadcasters, advertisers and media archives. An essential part of our work is iterative consultation with industry partners and the research community to ensure that ReTV tools help them achieve the desired impact. For this reason, we established ReTV Stakeholder Forum - a community of industry representatives and researches who bring their expertise to guide the outcomes of our research. During the first ReTV Stakeholder Meeting, ReTV partners will present their technological achievements. Participants will have an opportunity to test the ReTV prototypes for news media monitoring, video content adaptation and publication online and delivery of personalised content. You can find the report from the event here.

New scientific breakthroughs in video understanding through the application of AI techniques along with the increase in the volume of multimedia content and more computational power have led to significant improvements in automated video description and have opened fresh avenues for the seamless combination of multiple modalities’ analysis. The workshop aims to bring together experts from academia and industry in order to discuss the latest research progress in topics related to multimodal information analysis, and in particular, semantic analysis of video, audio, and textual information for smart digital TV content production, access and delivery. The main goal of the workshop is to promote AI techniques for multimedia analysis to enable smarter content production, access and delivery with the emphasis on […]
