The FOKUS Media Web Symposium (MWS) is an annual international conference organized by Fraunhofer FOKUS hosting 200+ participants from all over the world discussing Internet based media delivery. In two days MWS covers technical aspects (workshop, tutorials, and exhibition on the first day) as well as trends and business related aspects (conference on the second day). The event will take place on the 21-22 May, Berlin and ReTV partner RBB will attend this event. Within the conference, workshops and tutorials, the MWS will offer the latest insights in internet delivered media such as Machine Learning and Data Science for next-gen Media, Advanced Streaming Tech, 5G, VR/AR/360° Video, Dynamic Ad Insertion, Addressable TV, SmartTV/ HbbTV, related standardization and market developments. Following our tradition of providing a platform for international technology experts, the latest developments of web technologies and up-and-coming trends of the creative industry will be presented and discussed. During the sessions, coffee breaks in the exhibition area, as well as at the Media Web Night, participants will discuss where broadcast and over the top delivery will go and which technologies and business models will be most sustainable. ReTV partners will host workshop at the 2019 TVX conference taking place in in MediaCityUK, Manchester’s world-leading hub for creative media and technology innovation. 1ST INTL WORKSHOP ON DATA-DRIVEN PERSONALISATION OF TELEVISION (DATATV 2019) Description Synopsis: The aim of the DataTV 2019 workshop will be to address the increasing importance and relevance of richly granular and semantically expressive data about TV content in the media value chain. Such data needs extraction, modelling and management before it can be meaningfully reused in new, innovative services for TV content such as: – Content Summarization (e.g. to provide highlights of a program according to a specific user, theme or channel) – Recommendation and Scheduling across Publication Channels (Broadcast, Streaming, Social Networks) – In Stream Personalisation of Content (both spatial and temporal modification of text, audio, video) The workshop will solicit latest research and development in all areas of data creation and management for TV content and aims to support the growth of a community of researchers and practicioners interested in data value for personalised TV. The MDN Workshop at EBU HQ in Geneva is the annual meeting point for developers working on Metadata and Artificial Intelligence in broadcasting. It is open to the public. The event is organized by the EBU Strategic Programme on Media Information Management and AI (MIM-AI) and the Metadata Developer Network (MDN), an active community for developers to share knowledge, learn from their peers, get feedback and collaborate on metadata-related projects.
