AMIA 2019

We are crossing the big pond to present ReTV results at the AMIA 2019 Conference in Baltimore, the United States. The Association of Moving Image Archivists (AMIA) is the world’s largest international association of professional media archivists. The conference provides a forum to address the best ways to preserve and provide access to our media heritage. ReTV will take part in the panel "Open Sourcing Online Video Distribution Technologies" (9:30-10:30, 15 November). We will present how ReTV technologies for media monitoring and video analysis that help media archives repurpose their content and bring it to contemporary audiences. See the full programme here.

MMM2020: International Conference on Multimedia Modeling

We are pleased to confirm that ReTV consortium partner CERTH will present their research at the 26th International Conference on Multimedia Modeling. We will present two papers on unsupervised video summarisation and deep network training for multimedia classification. Full conference programme.

12th International Conference on Agents and Artificial Intelligence – ICAART 2020

We are pleased to inform that ReTV partners will participate in the upcoming 12th International Conference on Agents and Artificial Intelligence - ICAART 2020, which will take place in Malta. NISV, ReTV partners, will present a paper titled "Content Adaptation, Personalisation and Fine-Grained Retrieval: Applying AI to Support Engagement with and Reuse of Archival Content at Scale" during the special session of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Heritage: Challenges and Opportunities - ARTIDIGH 2020.  About the event The special session, ARTIDIGH 2020, aims to reflect, discuss and present the technical and societal challenges (e.g. labour to produce labeled datasets, heterogeneity of data, bias in training sets) digital heritage professionals and researchers are facing when trying to capitalise on the transformative power of artificial intelligence in the context of digital archive, image, and audio/visual collections. Cross Media Café – Innovation in corona times

We are happy to announce that ReTV partners, webLyzard technology, will give a presentation on Topic Compass at the first online Cross Media Café on Tuesday 21 April.  The event will pay special attention to cases in the industry arisen from the Coronavirus crisis. Arno Scharl (Managing partner at webLyzard technology) will showcase the dashboard features and will focus on the sentiment feature around the online discussion of COVID-19. About the event Media Perspectives and the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision organize periodically the Cross Media Café for professionals of the media industry. For the first time, the event will take place online and it's free. EBU MDN Workshop

We are excited to announce that ReTV project coordinator and MODUL Technology CTO, Lyndon Nixon, will give a presentation at the annual MDN Workshop from the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).  This year's event will be online and for the first time is free to register for everyone. Dr. Lyndon Nixon will give a presentation titled "Metadata-driven TV content re-purposing and re-publication", where he'll explain and  showcase a demo of ReTV solutions.
