SUMMARY:DataTV2020 Webinar
DESCRIPTION:DataTV2020 is a free online webinar bringing together experts in the field of (meta)data and television from academia and industry to share the latest state of the art and innovations in this field. The event follows the success of the DataTV workshop organised during the ACM TVX 2019 conference. \n  \nThe event programme will include talks from invited speakers on the following topics: \n\nAutomatic extraction of (meta)data from TV media assets (visual\, audial and/or textual features) and data interoperability with low-level feature data (e.g. MPEG-7) and high-level semantics (e.g. Knowledge Graphs)\nUse of extracted metadata (and its interoperability with external data) in automatic summarization\, remixing or repurposing of TV media assets\nUse of extracted metadata (and its interoperability with external data) in in-stream personalisation of TV content (both spatial and temporal modification of text\, audio\, video)\nUse of extracted metadata (and its interoperability with external data) in the recommendation and scheduling of TV content on different channels and targeting different audiences\n\nOpportunities for participants to contribute will be given by an open call for lightning talks and an open discussion at the end of the event. More details will be announced shortly. \nWe hope to build up the community of academic and industry researchers and practitioners working in the intersection of data and television\, with new possibilities for knowledge and technology transfer and promotion of shared data formats and vocabularies. \nMore information about the full programme and registration will follow shortly. \n

SUMMARY:Joint Technical Symposium 2019: Preserve the Legacy. Celebrate the Future
DESCRIPTION:The ReTV partners have been accepted to the programme of the Joint Technical Symposium.  The project coordinator Lyndon Nyxon (MOD) will present the paper “ReTV: bringing broadcaster archives to the 21st-century audiences: How ReTV solutions can optimise audiovisual content for online publication and maximise user engagement”. \nAbout the Event\nThe Joint Technical Symposium (JTS) is an international scientific and technical event dealing with matters of particular importance to audiovisual archives and archivists. Organized every few years since 1983 by the member organizations now forming the Coordinating Council of Audiovisual Archiving Associations (CCAAA)\, it provides an opportunity for audiovisual archiving experts from different backgrounds to come together\, share new and upcoming technical advances in our field\, and take positions that go beyond the boundaries of specific formats or domains. It is an occasion to inform each other about what’s going on in our field and seek cross-fertilization. At a time when the digital world is converging\, it is an opportunity to discuss technical issues and agree on how technologies best position us for the future of our field. \nTo see the full programme of the conference\, visit the JTS website.
